Cheryl Carter / Director

​Cheryl Carter was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in the East Texas area. Life took a turn she did not expect when she remained single until marrying at the age of 45. During her time of singleness, a desire was born in her heart to help single adults.  Cheryl has served as the Texas District Single Adult Ministry Director for 18 years.  She is the founder and director of Texas Singles Conference.  She also currently serves as the UPCI Single Adult Ministry Secretary.  

Cheryl resides in Lufkin, Tx with her husband, Rev. Gary Carter.   They have been traveling for 3 years ministering.​  Her heartbeat is for SAM to be a strong and viable ministry and for the lives of singles to be changed. Her favorite things are being with friends and family, preferably over a good cup of coffee and planning events/trips for singles.

Sallie Gordon 

Sallie Gordon is a member of Abundant Life in Silsbee, Texas, led by Bishop Douglas White and Pastor Benjamin White. She is the Single Adult Ministry leader, Jail Ministry Director, a member of the choir, and works wherever there is a need. Recently, Sallie earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Psychology and now has the privilege of working as a Mental Health Professional helping children and adolescents.  Sallie is a single mother raising her son and daughter while working full-time.  She enjoys fishing, going to the lake or beach, “attempting” to paint, reading a good book, coffee, campfires with friends and lots of laughter!
